LEADERSHIP TEAM
A Team of Dedicated Professionals
Every Reed and Associates project is led by a principal engineer and Project Manager, supported by experts in telecom system engineering, planning, design, and implementation—ensuring focused leadership and reliable results from start to finish.
Michael Reed
Principal Engineer
Michael Reed
Principal Engineer
Mr. Reed’s lifelong passion for radio and communications began on the Gulf Coast, where he earned his ham radio license as a high school freshman. He went on to study electrical engineering at Louisiana State University, gaining hands-on RF experience during summers in the Gulf region. After graduating, he built a career that spans energy, manufacturing, consulting, and transportation—working on systems from the deserts of the Southwest to the jungles of Ecuador. His work includes designing UHF systems for public safety, leading international RF projects, and managing over 800 licensed links as principal engineer for North America’s largest railroad. Today, Mr. Reed leads his own firm, offering deep expertise in microwave (IP, TDM, analog), SONET, VHF/UHF radio, antennas, interference mitigation, licensing, and aviation communications. His approach combines technical precision with decades of field-tested insight.
Cesar Arteaga
Sales Engineer
Cesar Arteaga
Sales Engineer
Mr. Arteaga brings a multidisciplinary background in mechanical engineering, project management, and sales to Reed and Associates Engineers. His experience in CAD design, manufacturing systems, and sensor integration provides a practical foundation for supporting RF and telecommunications projects with precision and field awareness. Fluent in English and Spanish, he enhances communication across diverse teams and client engagements, particularly in cross-border and field-driven environments.
With a proven track record in technical sales and customer-facing roles, Mr. Arteaga offers insight into client needs and solution delivery, strengthening Reed’s responsiveness and service quality. His ability to bridge engineering, operations, and business development makes him a valuable addition to the firm’s mission of delivering reliable, high-performance telecom solutions.
Alan Fuhrman
Senior Engineer
Alan Fuhrman
Senior Engineer
Mr. Fuhrman brings over four decades of specialized experience in RF and telecommunications engineering, with a career rooted in practical problem solving and field-focused execution. Raised on a family farm in Northwest Iowa, he earned a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology from Southwest Minnesota State University and began his tenure in railroad communications shortly thereafter.
His work spanned analog, TDM digital, and successive generations of IP transport, with geographic responsibility covering two-thirds of the continental United States. Mr. Fuhrman’s expertise includes path engineering, frequency coordination, licensing, equipment deployment, and land mobile radio systems. Known for his commitment to operational reliability and hands-on support, he consistently delivered solutions that met the demands of complex, large-scale telecom environments.
